Contacting the Police in an Emergency

Contacting the Police in an Emergency

Who do I call?

The national emergency number is 112.
You can also speak to an operator in your own language - BUT if you require a rapid response, you should always contact the Policia Local on their direct numbers, shown here. They are the officers of first response, and if required will bring in the Guardia Civil.

Police telephone numbers

A Few Simple Words...

You may worry that your Spanish is lacking to make the call, but the Chief of Police in Pilar de la Horadada tells us that you only need to use a few simple words for them to respond.

For example: You witness a burglary in progress in Calle Mimosa - call the Policia Local and tell them what is in progress and where - using the list here.

Robo Calle Mimosa - Pinar de Campoverde

That is all that is required for the police to send officers.
