Specialist or Hospital Referrals
When you visit doctor with a medical problem, he might refer you to the hospital for further tests or to see a specialist.
- The Doctor produces an “Aviso” which he sends to the hospital and gives a copy to the patient
- Hospital contacts patient with an appointment via text (or phone)
- If after a few weeks, no appointment is received, the patient should go to Torrevieja Hospital to the External Consultants reception in the basement with the “Aviso” and request an appointment.
- Patients should not ask the doctor to chase up their appointments, his time is better spent on medical appointments.
- Do please bear in mind that hospital appointments are taking a little longer because they are facing challenging times with the pandemic.
